No more shoes on the floor

I got fed up with the pile of shoes in the entry so Annabelle and I decided to do a little project. I got her a sponge brush and she did an excellent job painting the boards. I wish I could take credit for the design, but I found it here.

Little scientist

Annabelle requested binoculars to watch the thunderstorm roll in tonight. She then sat at the hallway window, staring into the darkness and watched all the flashes through the lenses. Her reaction: "Lightning is cool. I like lightning."

Mimmies and Poppies

Annabelle started eating a poppy seed muffin yesterday. She asked what the black things were and I told her they were poppy seeds. Today she had the other half of the muffin. She said, "Mmmm.... I like this muffin with the Mimmies."

a good nights sleep

Jackson slept through the night for the first time June 10th AND June 11th. Surprisingly, I was actually a little sad both mornings... even in my squinty-eyed, messy-haired, half conscious state at 3 am, its extra time that I get to spend with him. And I like that he needs me.

Annabelle READ for the first time today at Sujata's house. We put the letters "A" and "T" together and switched out the first letter to make different words which she sounded out. She read PAT, HAT, and RAT. !!

Random Thoughts on a Thursday Afternoon

Steve was out in the middle of the yard and I asked Annabelle to tell him it was time to eat. She runs to the end of the deck and yells, "Daddy, EAT TIME!"

She changed the words of the song to Twinkle, Twinkle, Uh, Uh, Moon.

Last night

Annabelle followed me with her popper and "vacuumed" the EXACT same spots as I did.
